PF Interest Rate: Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Tuesday that the EPFO will complete the process of depositing interest at the rate of 8.25 per cent in the accounts of the subscribers for the financial year 2024-25 this week. For the financial year 2024-25, interest is being given at the rate of 8.25 per cent on the amount deposited in the EPF account.
PF Interest Rate: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is depositing interest money on the amount deposited in the PF account of its members. Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Tuesday that the EPFO will complete the process of depositing interest at the rate of 8.25 percent in the account of the shareholders for the financial year 2024-25 this week. Every year, after getting approval from the Central Government on the interest rate payable on the provident fund, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization deposits the interest amount in the accounts of its members.
Money reached the accounts of 32.39 crore members
Mandaviya told reporters that this year the annual Provident Fund (PF) accounts were to be updated for 13.88 lakh establishments with a total of 33.56 crore members. Of these, interest has been deposited in the accounts of 32.39 crore members of 13.86 lakh establishments till July 8. This means that the work of updating the PF accounts of about 99.9 percent of the establishments and 96.51 percent of the members annually has been completed.
Interest is being credited from June 6
For the financial year 2024-25, interest is being given at the rate of 8.25 percent on the amount deposited in the EPF account. The central government approved this rate on May 22, 2025. Mandaviya said that after getting approval from the government, EPFO started the work of depositing the interest amount in the PF accounts from the night of June 6, 2025.
Speed up processing
The Labor Minister said that the process of depositing interest in the accounts of members for the financial year 2023-24 started in August, which was completed in December. He informed that the process has now been optimized for faster processing, due to which most of the process has been completed in June itself.
Accounts will be updated within a week
He hoped that the annual accounts in respect of the remaining establishments would also be updated within this week. The EPFO had decided on February 28 to retain the interest rate of 8.25 per cent on Employees Provident Fund (EPF) deposits for the financial year 2024-25. After this it was sent for the approval of the Finance Ministry. This is the same as the interest rate of FY 2023-24.
