Varanasi: Buddhist community commemorates lord Buddha's first sermon

The International Buddhist Confederation and Mahabodhi Society of India will celebrate Dhammachakkappavattana Day at Sarnath. The event marks Asadha Purnima, when Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon. The celebration includes circumambulation, chanting, and reflections by monks and scholars. Asadha Purnima is also observed as Guru Purnima by both Buddhist and Hindu communities.
