Who was Humaira Asghar? Pakistani actress found dead in apartment

Pakistani actress and model Humaira Asghar was found dead in her apartment in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase VI on Tuesday. According to reports, her body was found in a decomposed condition. She was 32.
News18 reported that Humaira’s landlord had made multiple attempts to contact her to collect months of unpaid rent. Her neighbours also reported a foul smell emitting from her apartment which prompted a call to the police. The Gizri police arrived at the scene around 3:15 pm and broke open the door, only to find her lifeless body. Authorities believe that she has been dead for over two weeks.

According to Pakistani news portal Images, South Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Asad Raza confirmed that the front door and balcony were locked from the inside, leading to no immediate suspicion of foul play. Her body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for further examination.
Who was Humaira Ashgar?
Humaira Ashgar was born on October 10, 1992. According to Pakistan’s Sunday magazine, the actress secured her degree in TV and cinema as well as Fine Arts from Lahore’s National College of Arts.
She made her film debut in 2021 in Farhan Saeed-starrer Love Vaccine. Later that same year, she took her first step into small-screen acting with the family drama series Benaam. Humaira gained fame for her role in ARY Digital’s drama series called Sirat-e-Mustaqeem. She was also a part of Tamasha Ghar, a reality television show that aired on ARY Digital.
While little is known about her family, a Mother’s Day social media post from 2024 suggests that her mother is a doctor. According to her Instagram bio, her interests include sculpting and painting. She was also a fitness freak, a fact that is corroborated by multiple videos she posted of her at the gym. Humaira was a frequent social media user, but her online presence abruptly stopped last September.
