Indore: RTO To Cancel Registration Of 31 Vehicles For Repeated Violations

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Regional transport office began proceedings to cancel the registrations of 31 vehicles whose owners repeatedly violated traffic rules in the city.

The action follows a review meeting, chaired a week ago by Collector Asheesh Singh, where officials from the traffic police, RTO and other concerned department discussed ways to tighten traffic enforcement.

Singh directed that vehicle owners with more than ten violations should face strict consequences under the Motor Vehicles Act, including suspension and eventual cancellation of registration.

Notices served; owners given seven days to reply

RTO Pradeep Sharma said the list of 31 vehicles violating traffic rules repeatedly was provided by Smart City Development Company. These vehicles had more than ten recorded traffic violence, including red light jumping and other violations.

Notices have been issued to all 31 owners, asking them to submit a satisfactory explanation within seven days. If they fail to reply properly, RTO will first suspend the registration and then cancel it.

Aim: Safer, more disciplined traffic in Indore

Collector Asheesh Singh emphasised that enforcing traffic rules strictly is essential to reduce accidents and improve road discipline.Frequent violators must face tough action. This is an important step towards making Indore’s traffic system safer and smoother, he said.
