Four minor students held in Hisar school principal’s murder
The Hansi police have arrested four minor students, aged between 14 and 15, for their alleged involvement in the murder of the principal of Kartar Memorial Senior Secondary School in Bass village, Hisar.
The incident happened on Thursday, when the students allegedly attacked the principal with a knife, leaving him with three stab wounds, as confirmed in the post-mortem report. The victim succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to a private hospital.
According to police, the students were upset over the principal’s strict disciplinary approach, including warnings over long hair and bad behaviour. They reportedly planned the attack after being repeatedly reprimanded.
Hansi Superintendent of Police Amit Yashvardhan said two of the students carried out the assault, while the other two provided the weapon.
“All four were close friends aged between 14 and 15. Their identities are being withheld as they are minors,” the SP said.
The SP said: “Initial questioning revealed that the principal had frequently reprimanded them in an effort to instil discipline, which they viewed as a personal vendetta.”
Police also noted that the students were influenced by criminal content on social media, which may have played a role in the violent turn of events.
The breakthrough came through CCTV footage, which captured the attackers fleeing the school premises in uniform. Acting on a tip-off, police tracked the suspects to the bus stand in Mundhal village, still wearing their school uniforms. They were apprehended soon after.
The murder weapon has been recovered and further investigation is underway. Police are also looking into digital evidence, including the students’ online activity and phone records.
