PM Modi Hands Over 51,000 Appointment Letters In Latest Rozgar Mela Drive
In a continued push to boost employment opportunities across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed over 51,000 appointment letters to newly inducted government recruits during the 16th edition of the Rozgar Mela. The event, held on July 12, was conducted via video conferencing, with PM Modi personally addressing the new appointees.
Employment at the Heart of Governance
Launched as a key initiative to tackle unemployment and empower the youth, the Rozgar Mela has become a recurring effort under the Modi government’s employment mission. According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the drive aims to increase young Indians’ participation in governance and national development. Since its inception, the initiative has resulted in the distribution of more than 10 lakh appointment letters across the country.
Pan-India Recruitment Effort
This latest edition of the Rozgar Mela was organised simultaneously at 47 different locations nationwide. The recruits have been appointed across several central ministries and departments, including the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, and Ministry of Labour and Employment.
The selection process drew candidates from every corner of India, with the new hires set to join a wide range of roles in the government machinery. The PMO highlighted that the appointments are not just job offers but also a step toward empowering the next generation to contribute meaningfully to the country’s progress.
A Message of Encouragement from the Prime Minister
Ahead of the event, Prime Minister Modi took to social media platform X to reaffirm the government’s commitment to youth empowerment. “We are determined to enhance the participation of young friends in building a developed and self-reliant India,” he wrote. “In this series, tomorrow, July 12, at 11 AM, I will participate in another employment fair through video conferencing, where thousands of youths will be handed appointment letters.”
Building a Workforce for Tomorrow
The Rozgar Mela is more than a symbolic gesture; it represents a sustained commitment to addressing employment challenges in the country. With each edition, the initiative aims to offer not just jobs but purpose, inclusion, and a platform for young Indians to be active contributors to the nation’s future.
