Ahmedabad Plane Crash: Preliminary Report Reveals Sudden Fuel Cutoff May Have Caused Tragedy | ABP NEWS
The devastating Ahmedabad plane crash on June 12 shook the entire nation. Just 32 seconds after takeoff from Ahmedabad Airport en route to London Gateway, the aircraft crashed into a medical college hostel in Meghaninagar. Tragically, all onboard perished except for one survivor, Vishwas Kumar Ramesh, making it one of the deadliest air accidents in India’s history. The preliminary investigation report into the crash has raised serious questions. According to the findings, both fuel control switches—responsible for regulating fuel supply to the engines—unexpectedly moved to the "cut-off" position within a single second. This led to a complete halt in fuel supply, causing both engines to shut down instantly. Investigators are now trying to determine whether the switch movement was due to a technical malfunction, human error, or some other unidentified cause. The report also notes that in 2018, an advisory regarding the issue had been issued by the FAA. However, it wasn’t made mandatory, and Air India reportedly did not initiate a probe at that time. This crucial revelation has intensified scrutiny on existing aviation protocols, raising concerns over ignored advisories and highlighting the need for stricter compliance in airline safety measures.
