Delhi building collapse: Three rescued from rubble of four-storey building at Seelampur; Fire dept at scene

Tragedy struck on Saturday morning in the national capital after a four-storey building collapsed in the Welcome area (Seelampur) of northeast Delhi. Police said that some people could be trapped under the rubble.
Latest reports from the site state that at least three persons were rescued from the debris and rushed to a nearby hospital. According to locals in the area, a family of ten members lives in the building.
Police told agencies that they received the call about the building collapse by 7 am. Multiple rescue agencies, including the fire department are on the scene.
Before the fire department arrived, some locals who were at the scene became first responders and started the rescue. Once the rescue team arrived, they worked together to get three people out.
Delhi Fire Service chief Atul Garg in the statement said that the building collapsed in Gali No. 5 at Janta Colony, near Idgah road in Seelampur.
“A total of seven fire tenders rushed to the site,” said Garg, reiterating that three persons were rescued and that the search operation is still on.
