TCS salary hike: In some bad news for employees of Tata Group’s Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) who have been awaiting the announced the announcement of annual salary hike since April 1, the company has decided to postpone the process till second quarter of the current fiscal year.
According to Milind Lakkad, TCS’ Chief HR Officer, the Indian IT giant has yet to take any decision on annual salary increase of its workers, who will now have to wait another three months for their increment as the decision is likely to taken after the Q2 of FY26.
Notably, TCS usually begins the salary hike and appraisal process from April 1 of each fiscal year, but the IT firm has postponed the process in the financial year due to reasons that have not been made public. TCS– India’s largest IT services exporter registered a profit of Rs Rs 12,760 crore in the first quarter of FY26, with a year-on-year (YoY) of six percent.
Additionally, the Tata Group firm hired a total of 5,090 new workers in the first quarter, raising the total number of employees to 6,13,000, it revealed. However, Lakkad asserted that new hirings should not be linked to the company’s quarterly growth, which is planned on an annual basis.
TCS, ranked among India’s 10-most valued domestic firms, is the largest IT company in the country, boasting a market cap of Rs 1,181,000 crore.
