Now, call centre for water supply issues

.To ensure a quick redressal of water supply-related grievances and other related queries, the Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited (SJPNL) and SUEZ company have launched a 24×7 helpline number 8767198000.

Trained executives will attend the calls and ensure a quick redressal of complaints received through the helpline. Earlier, people had to visit SJPNL’s office to file complaints regarding water supply issues.

A spokesperson of SJPNL said, “Consumers can now obtain any information related to water supply or register their complaints by dialling the helpline number. The service will be available round-the-clock, thus eliminating the need for public to visit the office repeatedly.”

The facility provided by SJPNL and SUEZ — the company that manages water supply in Shimla — will make the water management system more accountable, besides ensuring consumer participation, the spokesperson said. The objective behind the initiative is to provide the people with timely and accurate information and quick resolution, thereby saving the consumers’ time and increasing their trust in the system, he added.

The spokesperson stated that trained representatives at the call centre will listen to each call seriously, record the issues and forward them to the relevant technical teams. Prompt action will then be ensured, he added.

The SJPNL and SUEZ have appealed to the residents to directly contact the helpline number for any issues related to water supply and to make full use of the facility.
