Metal factory, 3 godowns, shop sealed in Jagadhri
The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri, sealed a metal factory, three godowns of the factory and a shop in Jagadhri. These establishments were constructed in a residential area without getting the building plan approved from the MCYJ.
After carrying out the action of sealing, notices were pasted on the properties giving warning that legal action would be taken if the seals were tampered with.
Assistant Town Planner (ATP) Deepak Sukhija said some people from Durga Garden of Jagadhri had complained on CM Window in 2024 alleging that a factory and three warehouses was built in the residential area of Durga Garden without taking permission from the MCYJ.
He said that after the complaint, a team of the MCYJ went to the spot and investigated the allegations.
He further said that the factory owner was asked to produce the documents related to the ownership, building plan and permission letter of the Municipal Corporation for the construction of the factory and godowns giving him notices.
“But, no document was given by the factory owner to the MCYJ. On investigation, it was found that the factory and godowns were built without getting the building plan passed,” said Sukhija.
He said on the instructions of MCYJ Commissioner Akhil Pilani, a team was formed to seal the said metal factory and its three godowns. The team included Assistant Town Planner Deepak Sukhija, Building Inspector Naresh Dahiya, Arjun and others officials.
The ATP further said that besides sealing the factory and the godowns, the team of the MCYJ also sealed a shop in Durga Garden, Jagadhri.
He said this property was commercial but when the MCYJ investigated the matter, it was found that the shop owner had constructed it without taking permission from the Municipal Corporation and without getting the building plan passed. He added that apart from this, the shop owner had got the shop constructed by getting the registry of a residential establishment. “The shop owner extended the shop’s balcony into the street, due to which even vehicles were not able to pass through the street,” said the ATP.
