Police attach assets of 3 POK-based terrorists in Ganderbal

In a significant move against anti-national elements, police in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal have attached immovable properties worth Rs 3.2 crore belonging to three terrorists operating from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK).

A police spokesperson stated that the terrorists were involved in a case registered under Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), filed at Kheerbawani police station.

The individuals whose properties have been attached are Farooq Ahmad Rather, Noor Mohammad Parray and Mohammad Maqbool Sofi, all residents of Ganderbal district.

Police reported that the land was attached following due legal process and in compliance with orders issued by the Court of Additional Sessions Judge (Special Judge designated under NIA Act).

This action is part of the ongoing efforts by the police to curb activities detrimental to the sovereignty and integrity of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. “It reflects the zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and those aiding or abetting such elements. Police remain steadfast in its mission to ensure peace, public safety and security across the district," the spokesperson stated.

This week, the J&K Police also announced the seizure of properties in north Kashmir’s Kupwara belonging to a Pakistan-based Kashmiri militant handler and top commander of the proscribed terror outfits Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen (JUM). This action is part of a broader crackdown on militants and their support networks, according to the police.
