Speaker opens 3 recreation centres for elderly in Rohini

Delhi Assembly Speaker and Rohini MLA Vijender Gupta on Saturday inaugurated three new Senior Citizens’ Recreation Centres in Sector 13, Rohini, reaffirming his commitment to creating dedicated spaces for the city’s elderly population.

The centres, developed through the MLA Development Fund at Dena Apartment, Sunehri Bagh Apartment and Kenra Apartment, aim to provide senior citizens with a platform for leisure, cultural activities and social engagement.

“Our elders are the foundation of our families and communities. It is our duty to create spaces where they feel respected, engaged and cared for,” Gupta said at the inauguration.

He emphasised that such centres help prevent isolation among the elderly while promoting active and socially connected living.

Gupta also encouraged Residents’ Welfare Associations to collaborate on similar projects, assuring full support from his office.

Residents, who attended the event, welcomed the initiative, describing it as a much-needed addition to the neighbourhood.

The centres will begin hosting various recreational and community activities for senior citizens in the coming weeks.
