Amit Sharma motivates VLEs at Mizoram CSC Diwas celebration

AIZWAL, July 12: Secretary of Information Technology and Cooperation Departments, Government of Mizoram, Amit Sharma, today inspired Village-Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) during the 16th CSC Foundation Day celebrations held at the I&PR Conference Hall, Lianchhiari Run, Aizawl.
As Chief Guest, Amit Sharma praised the role of Common Service Centres (CSCs) in delivering essential digital services to remote villages, especially those near the Bangladesh and Myanmar borders.
He said CSCs not only bridge the digital divide but also generate employment for tech-savvy youth in Mizoram.
Highlighting the theme of this year being the International Year of Cooperation, he shared that Multi-Purpose Agriculture Cooperative Societies (MPACS) would include CSCs as a key vertical.
This move, he said, would help in increasing revenue for MPACS and extending CSCs to every Village and Local Council in the state.
During the event, Amit Sharma presented awards to three outstanding VLEs for their performance in 2024–25: VL Ramropuii from Kolasib, Lalnunpuia Kawlni from Aizawl, and Hmingthanmawia from Lawngtlai.
He also outlined key ICT achievements in the state over the past year, including the successful rollout of e-Office in the Secretariat, signing of the multilingual BHASHINI MoU with the Government of India, and introduction of AI-enabled courses for students and government staff.
He encouraged VLEs to work with full dedication and interact closely with the public to increase awareness of digital services.
He added that major departmental services like Revenue, Agriculture, Transport, and Forests would soon be made available through e-Services and CSCs, ensuring better accessibility for people living in remote areas.
The event was presided over by State Incharge Pu Lalduhkima. Reports on CSC activities were shared by Pu Denghlira, District Manager for Hnathial and Siaha, while Pu Lalnunzama, District Manager for Kolasib, delivered the vote of thanks.
