Goods Train Goes Up In Flames In Tamil Nadu, Railway Ops Affected: VIDEO

A good train in Tamil Nadu's Tiruvallur went up in huge flames of fire, with thick black smoke billowing from the blaze. The fire has affected railway operations on the route, and efforts are on to contain the flames.  

Confirming the incident on social media, Southern Railway said the fire has affected operations on the route. “Due to a fire incident near Tiruvallur, overhead power has been switched off as a safety measure. This has led to changes in train operations. Passengers are advised to check the latest updates before travel," it said in the statement. 

As a result, several prominent trains scheduled to depart from Dr MGR Chennai Central station on 13 July 2025 have been fully cancelled, including:

  • 20607 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Mysuru Vande Bharat Express (scheduled departure: 05:50 hrs)
  • 12007 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Mysuru Shatabdi Express (06:00 hrs)
  • 12675 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Coimbatore Kovai Superfast Express (06:10 hrs)
  • 12243 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Coimbatore Shatabdi Express (07:15 hrs)
  • 16057 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Tirupati Saptagiri Express (06:25 hrs)
  • 22625 Dr MGR Chennai Central – KSR Bengaluru Double Decker Express (07:25 hrs)
  • 12639 Dr MGR Chennai Central – KSR Bengaluru Brindavan Superfast Express (07:40 hrs)
  • 16003 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Nagarsol Express (09:15 hrs)

Passengers have been urged to verify train schedules before heading to the station to avoid inconvenience.
