Religious events to mark 25th anniv of Kali Bein’s kar sewa

Events to mark the 25th anniversary of the Kar Seva of the Holy Kali Bein, which played a vital role in creating a movement for environmental conservation in Punjab, would be organised from July 13 to 16 under the aegis of Rajya Sabha MP and environmentalist Balbir Singh Seechewal.

Giving information about the four-day event to be organised at Gurdwara Gurparkash Sahib, Nirmal Kutia, Sultanpur Lodhi, administrators Sukhjit Singh Seechewal and Surjit Singh Seechewal said, “It has been 25 years since the Kar Sewa of the Holy Kali Bein, which was touched by first Sikh Guru Guru Nanak Dev, was started. Like every year, this time too, the anniversary of the Kar Sewa of the Holy Kali Bein is being celebrated from July 13th to 16th.”

They said an environmental conference would be organised at Gurdwara Gurparkash Sahib on July 13 (Sunday), in which Dr Afroz Ahmed, member of the National Green Tribunal, would be the chief guest, while Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, and Pingalwara chief administrator Bibi Inderjit Kaur would be present as special guests.

They said Akhand Path Sahib would begin during the celebrations on July 14. Meanwhile, on July 15, a kirtan darbar would be held from 9 am to 11 am and kavi darbar would be held from 11 am to 2 pm.

On July 16, after the Bhog of Akhand Path at 8 am, a grand religious diwan would be organised in which various religious and social leaders and scholars would discuss ways to improve the environment of Punjab, they said.

The administrators appealed to people that maximum attendance should be registered during these events.
