Breaking: Tight Security In Muzaffarnagar For Kanwar Yatra, ATS Commandos And Drones Deployed

Security arrangements have been significantly strengthened in Muzaffarnagar ahead of the ongoing Kanwar Yatra, a major Hindu religious pilgrimage. In light of past incidents where the atmosphere was disrupted, authorities are leaving no room for lapses this year.According to officials, 735 ATS commandos have been deployed in and around sensitive areas, particularly Muslim-majority localities, to ensure communal harmony and deter any attempts to incite tension. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjay Verma personally led flag marches across key zones to assess readiness and boost public confidence.Additional police forces, Bomb Disposal Squads, and drone surveillance teams have also been stationed across the district. These steps have been taken proactively to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of the Kanwariyas (devotees) participating in the yatra. An officer confirmed that 35 ATS personnel have arrived and are being deployed as per local requirements and sensitivity levels. “They are being posted wherever there is a need or concern. Our goal is to ensure that the yatra remains peaceful,” he said. These comprehensive measures reflect the administration’s commitment to preventing any untoward incidents during the pilgrimage.
