Crime Wave Shakes Bihar: Opposition Questions Law and Order Under Nitish Government | ABP NEWS

Bihar is witnessing a disturbing surge in crime, with violent incidents reported almost daily across multiple districts. The opposition has launched sharp attacks on the Nitish Kumar-led government, accusing it of losing control over law and order in the state. The gravity of the situation is evident from a string of back-to-back crimes reported in July alone. From the stabbing of a youth in Madhubani on July 1st to the murder of a businessman in Patna on July 10th, and multiple killings and shootings in Nalanda, Sitamarhi, Madhepura, and Begusarai — the state appears to be in the grip of unchecked criminal activity. Notably, even high-security zones in Patna like Kankarbagh have seen open firing in public parks. Police recovered a loaded country-made pistol and a motorcycle but have yet to arrest any suspects. Adding to the shock, Surendra Kevat, a rural health practitioner and BJP Kisan Morcha leader, was killed on July 13, raising concerns about the safety of even political leaders. The opposition has labeled the current state of affairs as "Mahajungle Raj" and questioned whether governance has collapsed under Nitish Kumar. With elections approaching, law and order is rapidly emerging as a major political flashpoint in Bihar.
