Heavy rainfall predicted on July 14, orange alert for 2 districts
The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall across the state on July 14 and issued an orange alert for Kangra and Sirmaur — very heavy rain in isolated areas of these districts.
The department has issued a yellow alert for Shimla, Mandi and Solan districts.
Accroding to Meteorological Department, light to moderate rainfall is very likely to continue at many places till July 19 with one or two spells of very heavy to heavy rain at isolated places from July 15 to 17. While maximum temperatures are very likely to fall by 3 degrees Celsius to 4 degrees Celsius, minimum temperatures will fall by 2 degrees Celsius to 3 degrees Celsius in the next three to four days.
The monsoon remained weak during the past 24 hours as only light to moderate rain was observed at many places. Though minimum temperature ranged from 11 degrees Celsius to 27 degrees Celsius, maximum temperature was recorded between 19 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius.
Shimla recorded 23.4 degrees Celsius maximum temperature while Dharamshala recorded 29 degrees Celsius.
With 34.5 degrees Celsius, Dhaulakuan in Sirmour was the hottest place, while Keylong remained the coldest place with 11 degrees Celsius.
