Majithia moves court for change of jail barrack

SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia has moved an application in a Mohali court requesting for the change of his barrack in New Nabha Jail.

Majithia is in judicial custody in connection with a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act. In his application, he has said that despite government’s apprehension of security threat to him, he has been lodged with other inmates.

Majithia, through his counsel, has also sought a copy of the “ground of arrest” papers. The court has issued a notice to the Vigilance Bureau (VB) for July 14 in the case.

The VB has informed the court that the search at Sainik Farms in Delhi has been completed and a pen drive submitted in the court. The bureau said its search regarding Saraya Industries was still on.

Majithia’s 14-day judicial custody ends on July 19 after which he will be produced in the court again.
