Washington: In a major development, the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) can now deport immigrants to a third country with just six hours’ notice, indicating Donald Trump’s tougher stance on immigrants. Until now, ICE was required to wait at least 24 hours after notifying immigrants of their deportation to a third country. The memorandum was issued by acting ICE Director Todd Lyons. It also signals that the situation for immigrants in the US may become more difficult in the coming days.
