Anil Ambani Reliance Companies Recovery

Companies like Reliance Power and Reliance Infrastructure are now beginning to recover. With new projects in hand, their stock prices have surged, and debt burdens are slowly decreasing. But just a few years ago, Ambani faced a major financial setback.

In 2012, Anil Ambani personally guaranteed a $700 million loan from three Chinese banks for Reliance Communications. In 2020, a London court ordered him to repay $717 million (with interest) within 21 days. At that time, Ambani told the court he had no money left and could not even cover his personal expenses. He claimed his net worth was zero. Even during this period he didn’t sell his most valuable possession.

Anil Ambani’s Priceless Possession

That possession is his luxurious 17-storey residence ‘Abode’, inherited from his father, the legendary Dhirubhai Ambani. It is located in Mumbai’s Pali Hill area which is the highest priced wealth among Anil Ambani’s assets.

It is spread across 16,000 square feet, with a helipad, swimming pool, a big garage for luxury cars, and an expansive lounge area. Anil Ambani lives here with his wife Tina Ambani and their two sons, Jai Anmol Ambani and Jai Anshul Ambani. The estimated value of this residence is Rs 5,000 crore.

Anil Ambani’s Other Assets

Anil Ambani owns a private jet worth around Rs 311 crore, and has a collection of ultra-luxury cars including a Rolls-Royce Phantom, Lexus SUV, Audi Q7, and Mercedes GLK350. He once gifted his wife Tina a luxury yacht of Rs 400 crore on her 64th birthday, which he named ‘Tian’ in her honour.

Now that his companies are slowly stabilising, debts are being repaid, new projects are flowing in, stock values are recovering and  his wealth is once again on the rise.

According to media reports, the combined net worth of Anil and Tina Ambani is estimated to be over Rs 2,500 crore.
