BJD Stages Protest Outside FM College in Balasore Over Student’s Self-Immolation Attempt and Alleged Denial of Justice

Balasore: Opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) organized a massive protest outside Fakir Mohan Autonomous College in Balasore today, strongly condemning the alleged inaction of college authorities and the state government following the self-immolation attempt by a female B.Ed student.
The protest, led by BJD’s student and youth wings, Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) and Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD), demanded justice for Soumyasree Bisi, who is battling for her life at AIIMS Bhubaneswar with over 90% burn injuries.
Effigies of the Chief Minister, Higher Education Minister, local MP, and MLA were burned during the protest.
The BJD accused the state government of complete failure in ensuring the safety of college girls, calling it “incapable and insensitive.”
The BJD also demanded the immediate resignation of both the Chief Minister and the Higher Education Minister. It also insisted on strict action against all those involved in the incident.
The BJD vowed to continue its fight until justice is served for Soumyashree.
