Berhampur: Bike Patrolling Initiative Started to Boost Road Safety and Emergency Response

Berhampur: With an aim to enhance road safety and ensure faster emergency response, IG Southern Range, Niti Shekar, flagged off 15 patrolling bikes from the SP Berhampur office today.

The bikes, equipped with sirens, megaphones, and blinkers, mark the first phase of a new initiative to strengthen traffic management and law enforcement in the city.

The allocation includes five bikes for the Traffic Police Station and two bikes each for Town PS, Gosaninugaon PS, BN Pur PS, Badabazar PS, and Nimakhandi PS.

An additional 20 bikes will be provided to other police stations in the second phase, with each station receiving two bikes.

The bike patrolling initiative focuses on regulating traffic, addressing road safety concerns, and ensuring swift responses to emergencies.

Traffic congestion caused by illegal parking, wrong-route driving, and vehicle breakdowns will be tackled efficiently, as the bikes enable police personnel to reach affected areas quickly, including remote locations inaccessible to four-wheelers.

Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M, along with other senior police officials, attended the flag-off ceremony.
