Bihar Congress leaders to discuss election strategy, seat sharing with top brass today
Ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls in Bihar, Congress top brass along with the party’s state leadership will hold meeting to discuss election strategy and seat sharing under the grand alliance.
The party sources said that it has intensified its preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections in the state.
They said in this sequence, an important meeting of prominent leaders of Bihar Congress is going to be held with the top leadership of the party in New Delhi today.
“In the meeting, important issues like election strategy and seat sharing within the grand alliance will be discussed in detail,” a source said.
Party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will be prominently involved in the meeting to be held at Indira Bhawan, the above source said.
Bihar Pradesh Congress President Rajesh Ram, Bihar Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru, all Congress MPs from Bihar and Congress Legislature Party leader in Bihar Shakeel Ahmed Khan will also be a part of this important discussion.
Earlier, the grand alliance or ‘Mahagathbandhan’ meeting was held in Bihar two days ago. Today’s meeting is taking place at a time when election activities have intensified within the grand alliance in Bihar.
On July 12, a meeting of all the constituent parties of the grand alliance was held in Patna, in which initial talks were held regarding the distribution of seats. In such a situation, in today’s Delhi meeting, the Congress leadership will take the opinion of its leaders from Bihar on seat sharing, another source said.
“It is expected that through this meeting, the Congress will formulate a strategy to strengthen its position in Bihar and play an effective role within the grand alliance,” the above source said.
He added the main objective of the meeting is to formulate a solid electoral strategy in Bihar along with the alliance, so that the BJP-NDA alliance can be given a tough challenge in the upcoming elections.
“There will also be discussions among the leaders on how all the constituent parties should contest the elections unitedly and give a positive message to the public. After building a consensus within the party on seat sharing, the Congress will be ready for the final round of talks with other allies of the grand alliance,” the above source said.
Today’s meeting will play an important role in deciding the direction of the future political steps of the Congress in Bihar.
