Hearing on Majithia’s plea adjourned
A Mohali court on Monday adjourned the hearing on SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia’s application for change of jail barrack to July 17.
Majithia is presently in judicial custody at the new Nabha jail in a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
In his application on July 11, he has said that despite government’s apprehension of security threat to him, he has been lodged with other inmates. Majithia, through his counsel, also sought a copy of the “ground of arrest” papers.
The VB has informed the court that the search at Sainik Farms in Delhi has been completed and a pen drive submitted in the court.
In another development, Majithia moved a bail application in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge-2, Mohali. The court adjourned the hearing to July 22. Majithia’s 14-day judicial custody ends on July 19.
