MI's 2025 Glory: Three Titles In One Year, 13 Overall – Full List Inside

The MI franchise continues to dominate global T20 leagues, adding yet another feather to its cap. MI New York defeated Washington Freedom on Monday to claim the title of Major League Cricket 2025.

This victory marked the third trophy for the MI franchise in 2025. Earlier this year, MI Cape Town clinched the title in South Africa’s T20 League, while the MI Women’s team won the Women’s Premier League in March.

With this, Mumbai Indians have now won a total of 13 titles across different tournaments.

MI Wins MLC Title in Last-Over Thriller

MI New York secured their second Major League Cricket title with a nail-biting five-run win against Washington Freedom.

The match went down to the wire, with Washington needing 12 runs in the final over. Two explosive batters — Glenn Maxwell and Glenn Phillips — were at the crease, but young pacer Rushil Ugarkar rose to the occasion. He gave away only six runs and even took the crucial wicket of Maxwell to seal the win.

Batting first, MI New York posted a competitive total of 180 runs in 20 overs. Quinton de Kock starred with the bat, scoring a brilliant 77 off 46 balls, including six fours and four sixes.

In reply, Washington had a shaky start, losing two wickets in the opening over. However, Rachin Ravindra and Jack Edwards steadied the innings with an 84-run partnership. Ravindra scored 70 runs, Edwards contributed 33, and Phillips remained unbeaten on 48, but their efforts weren’t enough to chase down the target.

MI’s Third Trophy in 2025, 13th Overall

This year has been nothing short of phenomenal for the MI franchise. MI Cape Town won the SA20 League at the start of 2025, and MI Women clinched the WPL title in March. With MI New York’s recent win, the franchise has now claimed 13 trophies in total.

Mumbai Indians lead the tally with five IPL titles. They have also won two Champions League T20 titles, two Women’s Premier League titles, two Major League Cricket titles, one in Dubai’s ILT20, and one more in South Africa’s SA20 League. The MI brand continues to build an unmatched legacy across global T20 cricket.
