Top seed Delhi’s Tejasvi in next round of tennis tournament

Top seed Delhi’s Tejasvi Dabas posted a 6-3, 6-2 win over Bihar’s Hanshika Singh to move into the women’s pre quarterfinals during the CLTA-AITA Women’s National Ranking Tennis Tournament at the Sector 10 CLTA complex today. Second seed Odisha’s Sanjay Sohini Mohanty easily blanked Mahi Trivedi without conceding a single game 6-0, 6-0, while Priyanka Rodricks defeated Haryana’s Ridhima Singh 6-3, 6-3.

Delhi’s Lakshmi Gowda also moved into the next round by defeating Rhea Arora 6-1, 7-5 while Delhi’s Yashika Shokeen struggled a bit before recording a win over Shagun Kumari of Uttar Pradesh. Fourth seed Jeetesh Kumari of Delhi also marched into the next round by defeating local challenger Reet Arora 6-2, 6-3 and Delhi’s Durganshi Kumar defeated Assam’s Snigdha Patibandla 6-4, 6-2.

Arushi Raval was not in her best form, but still managed to overpower Manshi Singh in a three-set finish 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 while Anu Moar had an identical day out as she stunned sixth seed Karnataka’s Srimanjunath Patil 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. Aditi Tyagi defeated Bhumika Dahiya 6-4, 6-3, Suhani Gaur ousted Rubani Kaur 6-3, 6-0 and Mahika Khanna defeated Anandita Sharma 6-2, 6-2.

Ruma Gaikwari won the first set 6-3 against Jigyasa Narsinghani, but the latter bounced back in the next with a 2-6 win. In the final, Ruma had the last laugh as she logged a 6-4 win.
