Harry Potter Series: Dominic McLaughlin's FIRST Look As 'The Boy Who Lived' Revealed
After major anticipation and hype, the production of the Harry Potter series has officially begun at the Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK. Not just that, but the makers also surprised Potterheads as they dropped the first photo of Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter.
The production house HBO took to its Instagram handle and dropped a photo of a bespectacled Dominic, with Harry's trademark lightening-shaped scar on his head, ruffled hair and Hogwarts robe. "First-years, step forward. The HBO Original Harry Potter series is now in production (sic)," the caption read.
Besides Dominic, Arabella Stanton will be seen playing the role of the bookworm Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout will play Harry's most loyal friend, Ron Weasley. While their looks have not been revealed yet. they were reportedly selected from more than 30,000 actors who had auditioned during the casting call.
The first season of the Harry Potter series will hit the screens in 2027, and it is being led by showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod of Succession fame.
The makers also announced that the key characters of Neville Longbottom, Dudley Dursley, Madam Rolanda Hooch and Garrick Olivander, and they will be played by Rory Wilmot, Amos Kitson, Louise Brealey and Anton Lesser, respectively.
John Lithgow will essay Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer will play Professor Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu will be seen playing the legendary character of Severus Snape, and Nick Frost will play the lovable Rubeus Hagrid.
Katherine Parkinson will be seen as Molly Weasley, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown, and Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge.
Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby will play Harry's aunt Petunia and uncle Vernon Dursley, respectively.
