CPI Leader K Chandu Rathod Fatally Shot Dead During Morning Walk In Hyderabad
Communist Party of India (CPI) city leader K Chandu Rathod was gunned down on Tuesday morning while taking a walk in Shalivahana Nagar Park, located in Malakpet, Hyderabad. The attack occurred around 7:30 AM and has sent shockwaves through the local community.
According to South East Zone DCP S Chaitanya Kumar, preliminary reports suggest that a group of three to four unidentified assailants arrived at the scene in a white Swift car, as per a report on Times of India.
Rathod, originally from Achampet in the Kurnool district, was an active figure in local politics. Police believe the motive may be tied to an ongoing land dispute, although no official confirmation has been made. Authorities are examining other potential angles as part of their investigation.
Eyewitnesses in the park fled in fear during the incident, and the area has been cordoned off as forensic teams work to collect evidence. Officers are also interviewing witnesses in hopes of identifying the attackers.
