Former Minnesota Twins Pitcher Found Guilty in Father-in-Law’s Murder Case

Former MLB pitcher Daniel Serafini was convicted of first-degree murder for fatally shooting his father-in-law, Robert Spohr, in 2021. He was also found guilty of attempting to murder Spohr's wife, Wendy Wood, who later died by suicide. Prosecutors argued Serafini's motive was financial, driven by dependence on his in-laws and a potential inheritance.
