Heavy rain in Kota, Rajasthan
Khatauli in Kota district of Rajasthan recorded 198 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours, which is the highest rainfall in the state. Five youths were swept away in the Chambal river on Monday afternoon due to sudden rise in the water level after water was released from the Kota barrage. Digod police station in-charge Purushottam Mehta said, ‘The five missing youths have not been identified yet and the youths rescued are not in a position to give detailed information at this time.’ In another incident, a 27-year-old woman was swept away while trying to cross a swollen drain on a scooter in the district. At the same time, it rained in Delhi in the evening, which brought relief from the humid heat of the day. However, complaints of waterlogging and traffic jams were also received at some places.
