'Woh Error Of Judgement Tha': Shubman Gill Opens Up On Rishabh Pant's Run-Out On Day 3 Of IND vs ENG 3rd Test; Video

Team India captain Shubman Gill suggested that the run-out between Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul in the first innings of the third Test against England at the Lord's Cricket Ground. The right-handed batter said it was an error of judgement and would not call it as KL Rahul hurrying to complete his milestone.

The tourists were in total control of the contest on day three when Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul as they were heading for England's total of 387. However, Ben Stokes produced a bullet throw to run Pant out for 74 at the stroke of lunch at the non-striker's end, ending a 141-run stand with Rahul.

When asked by a reporter about the run-out, Gill explained:

"Woh error of judgement tha, rather than mujhe apna 100 banana hai. I think unhone baat ki hogi lunch se pehle ki mera 100 ho jaaye toh accha hai. Kyunki batsman bhi pressure feel karta hai koi 99 pe hai toh. But at the end of the day main usko personal nahin maanunga, ki personal milestone ki vajah se kiya, woh error of judgement tha. Maarte hee call Rishabh ne ki, air danger end KL bhai ka tha."

(It was an error of judgement instead of wanting to make a hundred. They must have spoken about wanting to reach the ton before lunch. Any batter can be under pressure when on 99. But at the end of the day, I wouldn't consider it as a keen interest to complete the milestone. It was an error of judgement. Rishabh Pant called it after hitting the ball and KL Rahul was running to the danger end.)
