Heavy rain alert in state till July 21

Heavy rain is set to continue across the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning of heavy rain in various districts till July 21.

As per the department, light to moderate rainfall along with spells of heavy rain are likely to continue in the state till July 21. During this period, maximum temperatures are likely to fall by 2°C to 3°C while minimum temperatures will remain normal across the state.

Meanwhile, monsoon activity across the state, during the past 24 hours, was normal as light to moderate rain continued to occur in several parts of the state.

Jubbarhatti in Shimla district received 56 mm rain which was the highest in the state followed by Ghumarwin in Bilaspur district, which received 40 mm rain. Similarly, Bilaspur recorded 30.8 mm rain, Kasauli in Solan district recorded 28 mm rain, Kufri (23 mm), Shimla (18.8 mm), Dharamsala (16.4 mm), Paonta Sahib (15.8 mm), Barmour (14 mm), Narkanda (12 mm), Mandi (11.2 mm), Sundernagar (9.9 mm), Nahan (7.4 mm) and Bhuntar and Manali (3 mm each).

Similarly, the maximum temperature in Shimla was 22.2°C, Dharamsala (28.1°C), Manali (25°C), Solan (28°C), Mandi (30.2°C), Kangra (31.2°C), Bilaspur (32.4°C), Hamirpur (30.6°C), Chamba and Nahan (29.9°C each), Kalpa (25°C), Sundernagar (30°C), Kufri (20.5°C) and Bhuntar (30.6°C).
