Breaking News: Operation Kalnemi Intensifies In Uttarakhand, 182 Fake Babas Nabbed Amid Rigorous Police Action

Uttarakhand government has launched a major crackdown named Operation Kalnemi to tackle the menace of fake babas and fraudulent sadhus operating in the region. This drive focuses on identifying and apprehending imposters who exploit religious sentiments for personal gain. So far, police have interrogated over 1,249 individuals and taken action against 182 fake babas. The operation is especially active in Haridwar, the religious hub, where authorities are meticulously verifying identity documents such as Aadhaar cards and akhara certificates. Suspicious babas are also tested by asking them to recite religious chants like the Hanuman Chalisa to confirm authenticity. The campaign has uncovered imposters from different backgrounds, including foreigners and people from other religions masquerading as Hindu sadhus. The Uttarakhand government, under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s orders, is determined to protect genuine devotees and maintain the sanctity of religious places. The operation continues with strong police presence and community support, aiming to cleanse the region of deceitful elements harming public trust and peace.
