Executive Leadership Programme for SAIL Executives Begins at IIM Ranchi

IIM Ranchi inaugurated the third batch of the Executive Leadership Programme for the executives of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) at its campus today. This marks the commencement of Phase I, a five-day residential module scheduled from July 14 to 18, 2025. The programme is designed in three phases - two on-campus sessions (at IIM Ranchi) and one online phase.

The event began with an address by Programme Director, Prof. Manish Bansal, who introduced the faculty members present. He provided an overview of the programme structure, which covers key themes including financial equipment, decision-making, strategic leadership, and leadership styles. Each session incorporates a designated number and alphabet to indicate the targeted leadership style. Most sessions are focused on the steel sector, with comparative discussions on global steel industry practices and case studies from other industries as well. Prof. Bansal welcomed all participants and expressed enthusiasm for an engaging learning journey.

Following this, a lamp lighting ceremony and invocation took place, formally inaugurating the event.

Prof. Rajeev Verma, Chairperson - Corporate Relations and Placement Committee, then welcomed the participants and acknowledged the support of the institute’s leadership. He spoke about the importance of such programmes in refreshing and expanding professional knowledge, and highlighted the role of the platform in fostering relationships and interactions beyond classroom learning. He also shared information about IIM Ranchi’s offerings, including its Executive MBA programme, Management Development Programmes (MDPs), and the satellite campus in Hyderabad.

Next, Programme Director Prof. Anupriya Khan addressed the gathering with a contextual reference from Hitopadesha - “Vidya Dadati Vinayam”, emphasizing the role of knowledge in developing humility and sound decision-making. She expressed the hope that the programme would enhance the participants’ perspectives and professional growth through meaningful interactions and technical sessions.

The inauguration ceremony concluded with all dignitaries and participants looking forward to a productive and insightful five-day engagement.
