Who is Ajay Kumar Shrivastava, the new Director (Engineering and R&D) of HAL

State-run aerospace and defence major Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), on Wednesday, announced that Ajay Kumar Shrivastava took charge as Director (Engineering and R&D).
Prior to his appointment as Director (Engineering and R&D), he was the Executive Director (Aircraft Research & Design Centre) at the company.
Shrivastava began his career with HAL in 1998 as a management trainee.
"During his 37-year career at HAL, he held key leadership positions, including Head of Aircraft Research & Design Centre (ARDC) and Head of Transport Aircraft Research & Design Centre (TARDC)," the company said.

According to HAL, Shrivastava contributed significantly to major projects including the avionics upgrade of the entire Hawker Siddeley HS 748 fleet, the Do-228 (Dornier 228), the Sea-King helicopter and the IL-78.
Shrivastava has extensive experience in the design and development of the trainer, fighter, transport aircraft and rotary aircraft.
Under his leadership, HAL obtained the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) certification for HAL’s two Do-228 aircraft, the first indigenous transport civil passenger aircraft in India to be type certified and the type certification of Hindustan-228 aircraft, the company said.
