CBSE Important Notice: Now Oil Board will be formed in schools, know how students will benefit?
CBSE has directed to form Oil Board in schools. A notice related to this has also been issued. Its purpose is to promote healthy lifestyle for students.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken a big step in the interest of the students. After the Sugar Board, now it has announced to form an “Oil Board” in schools. Guidelines have also been issued for this. Through this, healthy lifestyle will be promoted among the students. Now after sugar, oily food will also be monitored in schools. Healthy food options will be made available in the canteen or cafeteria instead of samosas, kachoris, pakodas, chips.
According to the data, obesity is increasing rapidly among children in India. In 2021, the number of overweight people was 18 crores, which can increase to 44.9 crores by 2050. The board has expressed concern about this. This step has been taken to promote a healthy environment in schools. The necessary guidelines related to this initiative will be followed in all schools. Schools can take action as per the need.
How will the oil board work?
The board will raise awareness about harmful consumption in schools. Oil board displays will be installed in cafeterias, lobbies and other public spaces, such as posters. Health messages will be printed on all official stationery as a reminder to fight obesity. In addition, nutritious healthy food options such as fruits, vegetables, low-oil options and sugar-free drinks as well as healthy snacks will be promoted.
What else will change in schools?
The oil board in schools will encourage students to do physical activities. The use of stairs will be encouraged. The facility of walking paths will be ensured. Short exercise breaks will also be organized.
