Ruling out the possibility of Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford becoming a Liverpool player next season, media reports said, quoting insiders, that a bid for the England international was never approved.

Rashford, a home-grown Manchester United talent, is almost certain to leave Old Trafford after spending the last season on loan with Aston Villa. He wants Barcelona to sign him, but the Catalans are not interested in shelling out a considerable amount on the winger who can also fulfil the role of a number nine. Liverpool's Colombian winger Luis Diaz is preferred over Rashford by the La Liga champions, who may consider a loan deal for him in case the talks with the Reds fall flat. United, in the middle of a squad overhaul, is unlikely to appreciate another loan offer as they want to raise funds for more buys.
