Watch Syrian TV host fleeing studio in panic after Israeli airstrikes obliterate building behind her | VIDEO

After Israel launched a series of airstrikes in central Damascus, a video shared by Defence Minister Israel Katz shows a TV anchor fleeing in panic after a missile strikes in the background.

Posting the video on X, Katz wrote, "The heavy blows have started." This comes after the Syrian army failed to withdraw from the southern city of Sweida after the defence minister's warning.

The video shows the TV host speaking to the audience when a missile strikes on a building behind her. The panicked woman then ducks out of her chair and rushes off the camera.

A similar incident occurred exactly a month ago when the Israeli Air Force bombed the offices of Iranian state broadcaster IRIB in the capital city of Tehran on June 16. A terrified news achor flees the studio after an airstrike disrupts the broadcast.

While launching the airstrikes, Israel stated that the campaign is intended to defend the Druze in Syria and to target Islamic militants on its border areas. The Druze are one of the predominant communities in Israel.

At least five security force members were reportedly killed in the attack. However, following the airstrikes, Syrian government officials and Druze leaders in Syria announced a renewed ceasefire.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the US is "very worried" about the violence in Southern Syria, calling it "a direct threat to effort to build a peaceful and stable Syria."

"We have been and remain in repeated and constant talks with the governments of Syria and Israel on this matter," Rubio said.
