Demolition drive at illegal colony in Ambala

A team of the Town and Country Planning Department (DTP), Ambala, carried out a demolition drive at an unauthorised colony, being developed in the Saha area here, on Wednesday.

According to the DTP office, following information about an unauthorised colony being developed on 0.75 acres in the Saha area, a demolition drive was carried out. During the drive, foundations and the road network of the colony were demolished. Ambala District Town Planner Rohit Chauhan, who was present as Duty Magistrate during the drive, said, “Land owners and property dealers sell plots by giving false assurance of colony regularisation. We have appealed to the public not to fall into such traps, and not to buy plots in such unauthorised colonies. They have also been warned not to carry out any construction work as the department will continue to take action against such constructions and unauthorised colonies.”
