A deeply disturbing case has emerged from Rathonda village in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, where a young married woman named Manisha died by suicide after consuming poison. Prior to her death, she recorded a 3-minute 29-second emotional video and left two suicide notes, one of which was written on her own body using a marker — a haunting testament to the torment she faced.Manisha, who had been married to Kundan in 2023, alleged in her notes and video that her husband and in-laws subjected her to severe dowry harassment and physical abuse. Despite her father spending over ₹20 lakh on her wedding, including gifts like a Bullet bike and furniture, the in-laws kept demanding a car. The abuse escalated to the point where they even attempted to electrocute her.The most tragic detail: Manisha was pregnant, and in her video, she accused her in-laws of forcing her into pregnancy. Living at her maternal home due to this abuse, she eventually succumbed to the mental trauma and ended her life.This case sheds light on the ongoing dowry menace, the failure of enforcement, and the urgent need for justice.
