China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) deployed robot wolves in a collaborative military drill, which involved humans and drones.
According to China Central Television (CCTV), this was the first time that the robot wolves, which earlier made appearances at events like Airshow China, took part in a military drill.
The drill incorporated unmanned systems like drones and robot wolves to conduct combat operations, including precision strikes and reconnaissance missions.
The CCTV footage of the exercise showed soldiers advancing with man-portable rocket launchers, QBU-191 marksman rifles and QBZ-191 assault rifles, along with robot wolves which were also equipped with QBZ-191 assault rifles or reconnaissance tools.

Hu Te, a member of the brigade that trained with the wolves, said this was the first time he commanded and operated the robot wolf. "Our primary-level companies aim to use the newly commissioned unmanned equipment well, and integrate them with humans," he was quoted as saying.
Weighing nearly 70 kilograms, these robots can easily navigate complex terrain, including stairs, rocks, trenches, and steep slopes, which would not be easily accessed by wheeled or tracked vehicles, boosting the combat capabilities of China's special operations forces.
According to Global Times, Fu Qianshao, a military affairs expert, said the deployment of ground robots in combat scenarios could be more effective than aerial drones.
