UAN number is very important for every employed person, through which many services related to PF can be availed. Many times people forget UAN or are unable to find it. Now it has become easier than ever to find it. Let us know, what are the easy ways to find UAN
UAN (Universal Account Number) has become the most important identity for employees working in government, private or any institution. This 12-digit unique number is issued by EPFO, through which all online services like PF balance, passbook, transfer, claim can be easily availed. Many times employees forget their UAN number or are unable to find it. In such a situation, now finding UAN has become very easy. Know its step-by-step method.
1. Find UAN from EPFO website
First of all open the EPFO website.
Click on the ‘Services’ tab, then select ‘For Employees’.
Go to the ‘Member UAN/Online Services’ option.
Click on ‘Know Your UAN’ below.
Enter the required details – Member ID as per salary slip, Aadhaar or PAN, date of birth and your registered mobile number.
Once you submit, you will receive an OTP on your mobile.
Enter the OTP – your UAN number will be sent to your mobile via SMS.
2. Know UAN number through SMS
SMS from your registered mobile:
Type: EPFOHO UAN ENG
Send this message to 7738299899
Within a few seconds you will receive an SMS with your UAN, PF balance and other details.
For other languages:
Instead of ‘ENG’, enter your language code like HIN (Hindi), PUN (Punjabi) etc.
3. Use UMANG mobile app
Download UMANG app and go to EPFO services.
Select ‘Know your UAN’ option.
Enter mobile number and other required details, verify by entering OTP.
Your UAN number will be displayed on the screen.
4. Know UAN through missed call service
Give a missed call to 012901406 from your mobile number registered with EPFO.
The call will be disconnected automatically and all the information including UAN will be sent to your number through SMS.
5. From salary slip and HR department
Most companies also provide UAN number in the salary slip every month.
If you do not know, you can ask for UAN from your HR or payroll department.
Does UAN change?
The UAN number remains the same throughout the career. Even if a new PF account is created after getting a new job, the UAN will remain the same.
If you have got two UANs by mistake, then get it merged from EPFO.
As soon as you get UAN, it is necessary to link it with Aadhaar, PAN and bank account.
Services like online claim, balance check or KYC will be smooth only then.
If you do not receive OTP or other information, then get your mobile number and Aadhaar details updated with EPFO or HR.
