Hisar Mayor opens projects worth Rs 21.5 crore

Mayor Praveen Popli inaugurated development projects worth Rs 21.5 crore in the town in the presence of special guest local MLA Savitri Jindal today. Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said development works would ensure better facilities for residents.

The projects include a storm water drainage system in Urban Estate-2, which would be constructed at a cost of Rs 9.48 crore. It would completely solve waterlogging problems in the residential areas, the Mayor said, adding that the work was expected to finish within a year. The contractor would maintain the system for three years after completion of project, he said.

Another project was of renovation of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park in Urban Estate-2 at an estimated cost of Rs 19 lakh. The Mayor said this project includes repairing swings, walkways and gym equipment. Similarly, Shiv Park in the MC Colony would also undergo renovation at the cost of around Rs 17 lakh. The project includes laying of stones, painting of grills and constructing of blocks and pathways. Roads with interlocking paver blocks would be constructed in Tara Nagar and Jai Shri Shyam Vihar Colony at a cost of Rs 11.68 crore, he said.
