DGP J&K reviews border security in Akhnoor Sector

JAMMU, July 17: Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, Nalin Prabhat, today visited the Buchohemandi View Point in Akhnoor Sector to review the security arrangements along the Line of Control (LoC).
The DGP was accompanied by senior officers from the J&K Police, CRPF, and Indian Army, including IGP Jammu Zone Bhim Sen Tuti, IGP CRPF Jammu Sector Gopala K Rao, DIG JSK Range Shiv Kumar Sharma, SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, and Army officers deployed in the sector.
During the visit, the DGP was briefed by Army officers about the border security grid, surveillance systems, and coordination between police and army units.
The officers also discussed the preparedness of ground forces to tackle any cross-border threats.
The DGP stressed on the need for better inter-agency coordination, real-time intelligence sharing, and use of modern surveillance equipment to secure sensitive areas like Akhnoor.
The visit focused on strengthening joint operational readiness in view of the security challenges in the border areas.
