JDA clears 13.5 Kanals of encroached land in major demolition drive

JAMMU, July 17: The Jammu Development Authority (JDA) today launched a major anti-encroachment drive across Jammu district, retrieving 13.5 Kanals of encroached land and demolishing unauthorized structures.

The action, carried out in coordination with the District Administration, targeted illegal constructions in Sidhra, Kalka Colony and Paloura areas.
At Sidhra in Tehsil Jammu Khas, several illegal permanent and semi-permanent structures, including newly built houses and boundary walls on JDA land, were demolished.
In Kalka Colony of Tehsil Bahu, illegal concrete structures were removed and access to the local cremation ground was cleared.
In Paloura (Tehsil Jammu North), JDA retrieved land under Khasra number 1080, evicting illegal occupants and securing the area with fencing and warning boards.
The demolition drive was supervised on-ground by JDA Tehsildars Rashi Dutta and Megha Gupta under the overall supervision of Director Land Management, Garbi Rashid Dar.
Officials said strict action will continue against encroachers and the public has been advised to refrain from illegal constructions on Government land.
