Donald Trump’s health in spotlight: US President diagnosed with new medical issue after… disease is…

Washington DC: Amid the growing speculation surrounding United States President Donald Trump’s health following reports of mild swelling in his lower legs, the White House on Thursday informed that the 79-year-old has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI). White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that the condition is a “benign and common” issue among the elderly, especially people over 70 years of age.

During the weekly press briefing, Leavitt responded to questions from the press regarding the bruising on Trump’s hand and swelling in his legs, stating that the White House medical unit is closely monitoring the US President’s health condition.

“In an effort of transparency, the President wanted me to share a note from his physician. In recent weeks, President Trump noted mild swelling in his lower legs. In keeping with routine medical care and an abundance of caution, this concern was thoroughly evaluated by the White House medical unit,” she said during the press briefing.

Is Trump Also Suffering From Serious Cardiac Disease?

Leavitt rejected speculations that the US President is suffering of any serious cardiac diseases or systemic illnesses.

“The President underwent comprehensive examination, including diagnostic vascular studies. Bilateral lower extremity venous doppler ultrasounds were performed and revealed chronic venus insufficiency AB9, a common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70,” she said.

Medical tests, including blood work and an echocardiogram, revealed no evidence of blood clots, arterial problems, heart issues, kidney dysfunction, or other systemic illnesses. All test results were normal.

Why Trump Have bruises On His Hands?

Leavitt further confirmed that the US President has minor bruising on his hand. It is a minor soft tissue irritation caused by frequent handshaking and is a side effect of aspirin use.

Notably, Trump takes an aspirin tablet as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.

“This is a well-known and benign side effect of aspirin therapy. And the president remains in excellent health, which I think all of you witness on a daily basis here,” she said.

What Is Chronic Venous Insufficiency?

A person suffers from CVI when his veins in the legs are not able to pump blood back to his heart properly. This caused blood to pool. The reason for this is that small valves inside the veins are damaged. These tiny veins are responsible for pumping blood upward to the heart.

CVI affects approx 5 percent of adults after the age of 50. Risk factors include age, obesity, blood clots, and prolonged periods of standing. President Trump’s recent diagnosis followed observation of ankle swelling; however, subsequent tests excluded serious blood clot or cardiac complications.
