Ground report: Head Constable, SSP clinch gold in international sports events

Head Constable Sahil, posted in the CIA staff, Amritsar, has brought glory to the Police Commissionerate by winning two gold medals in left-hand and right-hand arm wrestling in the games held in the USA. In the World Police Games held from June 27 to July 6, 2025, 8,500 players from 70 countries participated and Head Constable Sahil prove his mettle by defeating players from five countries.

Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and DCP (Investigation) Ravinder Pal Singh congratulated Head Constable Sahil and wished him success in reaching higher positions in future.

Sahil defeated champions from Canada, Brazil, USA, Bulgaria and Vietnam to clinch these two gold medals.

In another sporting achievement for Punjab Police, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Daljit Singh Rana won a gold at the International Police Games in Atlanta. While doing so, he also created history with a record-breaking javelin throw in the veterans’ category.

SSP Daljit Singh Rana participated in the International Police Games (Veterans Category) being held in Atlanta, USA. Representing India in the javelin throw event, SSP Rana not only clinched the top spot but also set a new record, making his mark on the global stage.

Known for his discipline and dedication in both service and sport, SSP Rana’s achievement is being celebrated across the police fraternity and sports circles. Competing against veteran officers from across the world, he demonstrated extraordinary skill, strength and focus – earning applause from spectators and fellow participants alike. He is currently serving in Anandpur Sahib.

A Punjab Police spokesperson expressing joy called it a “moment of honour for the entire force and the state."
