'Natural Pond': Rainwater Enters Government Hospital In Ajmer As Heavy Showers Lash Rajasthan (VIDEO)
Ajmer: Heavy rains have lashed Rajasthan over the past few days, throwing normal life out of gear. The incessant showers have exposed the condition of government hospitals in the state. Due to heavy rainfall, the government-run Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital in Ajmer witnessed chaotic scenes as rainwater entered its premises, causing inconvenience to patients.
The video of the hospital flooded with rainwater was shared by news agency ANI. The video shows waterlogging outside the MRI department of the hospital. In the visuals, it could also be seen that the rainwater in the corridor and rooms of the hospital.
Seeing the condition of waterlogging at the entry of the hospital, one of the people in the video could be heard saying that it is a "natural pond".
"It has been raining since 5 am today. Rainwater has entered many parts of the hospital," a local visiting the Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital told ANI.
Heavy rain is predicted over Rajasthan and other parts of northwest India on Friday. "Extremely heavy rainfall (≥21 cm) very likely at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh on 17th and Rajasthan on 18th July," the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a weather forecast.
"Isolated heavy rainfall likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh during 17th-23rd; Punjab, Haryana on 17th, during 21st-23rd; Rajasthan during 17th-19th July with very heavy rainfall over Uttarakhand on 17th and during 20th-23rd; West Uttar Pradesh on 18th, 20th & 21st; East Rajasthan on 17th and Himachal Pradesh during 21st-23rd July," the IMD added.
Paratpgarh Hospital Incident Earlier This Month:
It is not the first time that rainwater has entered a hospital in Rajasthan. A similar incident took place earlier this month when chaotic scenes erupted at the Pratapgarh sub-district hospital after rainwater entered the building.
The incident was recorded on camera, and the video soon went viral on social media. In the video shared by news agency PTI, it could be seen that patients are facing difficulties due to waterlogging. Patients and families express anger over repeated flooding and demand immediate action.
